Important note regarding February 2010 schedules

As part of the 2009/2010 Federal Budget, the Federal Government announced changes to the funding of cataract procedures as a result of the Medicare review into the amount paid for these services. These changes came into effect from 1 November 2009 and were amended in accordance with Medicare on 26 November 2009. The latest changes have been put into effect by Medicare with effect from 1 February 2010. The Medicare rebate for a standard cataract procedure has been increased since the changes on 26 November 2009. HBA and Mutual Community will continue to pay a benefit in line with the percentage amount we currently contribute.
