Information on Recognition

In order to be recognised as a Bupa Recognised Optical Dispenser, providers are required to meet the following requirements:

• Providers must have completed as a minimum, a recognised course in:
• HLT43507 Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing

In addition, the following requirements are mandatory:

1. Australian Business Number (ABN)
2. Professional Indemnity Insurance

Benefits will only be paid where the recognised provider provides the service in the physical presence of the Bupa Australia customer, unless the service provided is the supply of contact lenses. Additionally, all services, including the supply of contact lenses, must be provided in Australia.
